Why I stopped pretending to know it all and became a chief connector
People often ask how I became known as a “chief connector.”
Truth is, I didn’t plan it.
I didn’t set out to win that title or make it a part of my brand. It happened because I refused to pretend that I had all the answers, and instead I leaned into the power of connection.
Early in my career, when a client needed help that required an expert highly specialized in that particular area, such as in compliance, cybersecurity, or pharmacy, I didn’t fake it. Instead, I called in people I trusted, such as attorneys, pharmacists, and clinicians—experts who delivered excellence.
And I didn’t just make introductions; I curated the right teams to solve the correct problems, fast.
That’s when I discovered something important: the magic wasn’t in me having all the answers. It was about building trust, chemistry, and the courage to ask better questions.
Connection became less about networking and more about stewardship, ensuring the right people were in the right conversations at the right time with the right intentions.
Over the years, this became more than instinct. It became a discipline. And eventually, it became a framework: I2S™, Integrated Stewardship Strategy.
I2S™ is about uncovering hidden inefficiencies, streamlining operations, and aligning culture with business goals. But more than that, it’s about understanding that growth is never just operational or financial. It’s relational. When you put the right people together, you unlock solutions no single expert could deliver alone.
That’s why I say I2S™ wasn’t designed for the status quo.
It was built for visionary mavericks, leaders who want profitability without sacrificing humanity. Leaders who know that how you grow matters just as much as how fast.
So how did I become a chief connector? By recognizing that leadership isn’t about having every answer. It’s about having the courage to admit you don’t.
And, the wisdom to connect with those who do.
